Speech Pathologist

Our allied health service has been operating for twelve months, and we are seeking an early career Speech Pathologist to work with our Speech Pathology team in continuing to grow and develop a quality service for the community. We currently offer individual and group assessment and therapy for children up to 12 years in various settings, catering for both self-funded and NDIS participants. We also offer professional learning in educational settings.

The current clinical caseload ranges from phonological, articulation and motor speech disorders to language difficulties and disorders, social communication and literacy difficulties and emerging communication. Functional outcomes are the focus of our support. We work closely with families to establish goals and monitor progress. We use evidence to inform the frequency and length of sessions and the intervention period.

There is a future scope to branch services into mental health, adult or aged care based on the teams experience, special interests or goals for professional growth.

  • Permanent full-time or part-time position available (up to 38 hours per week).
  • Salary of SCS Level 2-3 ($69 677.43 – $80 980.30 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 11.5% superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Supervision and support from speech pathologists with over 15 years’ experience.
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave (after 12 months service)
  • 15 days paid personal leave per annum (pro rata) for full & part-time employees.
  • Salary packaging (up to $15,899 per year) plus meal and entertainment cards.

  • Paid shut-down leave on standard working days between Christmas and New Year.

Experience & Qualifications  

  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
  • A commitment to the inclusion, participation, and rights of people with a disability and/or developmental delay.
  • The ability to work positively and collaboratively within inter-professional teams as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice with A commitment to professional learning, reflective practice, and an interest in being innovative with service delivery.
  • Must have a current Drivers Licence, access to a private motor vehicle and willingness to travel to deliver services when required.
  • Paediatric experience is desirable.
