Every month, Woden Community Service and Northside Community Service open their doors and set the table for two free community meal programs that are helping Canberrans connect, make friends and feel a little more at home in their community.

Good health starts with movement, and one of Northside’s most popular programs is helping community members improve both their physical and mental wellbeing.

This year, our Youth Engagement Teams joined community members, organisations, Elders, families and young people at both NAIDOC in the North and NAIDOC in the South, helping to create welcoming spaces for connection, conversation and cultural celebration.

There was plenty of reason to celebrate at Woden Youth Centre recently as community members, partners, vendors and supporters came together to mark 30 years of The Big Issue.

A colourful new chapter has been added to Hughes. Two striking community murals now transform the local shops and celebrate the stories, people and creativity that make the suburb special.

Families across Canberra are invited to join in the fun when the Woden Children’s Fair returns to Lyons this September, bringing together free activities, entertainment, community services and plenty of opportunities for children to play, learn and connect.
