Woden Community Service (WCS) provides quality before school, after school and school holiday programs for children in Pre-school to Year 6 at Duffy Primary School.

Duffy Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) provides high-quality care that promotes learning and development with particular emphasis on play, social interactions, recreation and reflection. Our after school care programs provide play and recreation based activities that are centered on the children’s interests to support them in ‘winding down’ after the school day. We offer children a home-like atmosphere and the opportunity to participate in leisure and recreation activities such as art, games, gardening, cooking, drama and more.

Before School Care

Our Before School Care program caters for children of all ages in Pre-school to Year 6. We serve a nutritious breakfast and offer inside and outdoor activities to engage your child’s brain as they start their day.

The program operates out of preschool space. Children in Preschool remain in their classroom. Educators escort Kindergarten children to their classroom. All other children make their own way to their room.

Juniors After School Care

Our Juniors After School Care program caters for children in Preschool and Kindergarten. Duffy Juniors offers a unique program for Preschool children called the Wrap Around Program. This allows children to attend all sessions in the familiar environment and educators move in and out during the day. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and offer an inclusive environment with a focus on building children’s social skills, resilience and connection to their world.

The program operates out of the preschool. Educators collect Kindergarten children from their classroom and escort them to the preschool environment.

Seniors After School Care

Our Seniors After School Care program operates out of the Play Space and caters for children in Year 1 to 6. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea. The inclusive environment provides play and recreation based activities centred on the children’s interests to support them in ‘winding down’ after the school day. We offer children the opportunity to participate in leisure and recreation activities such as art, games, gardening, cooking, drama and more in a ‘homelike’ atmosphere.

Our after school care programs allow for regular interactions between the Juniors and Seniors program, which we believe helps to build relationships and a sense of community.

School Holiday Program

Our service at Duffy Primary provides a school holiday program for children in Preschool to Year 6. During school holidays, we provide a blend of excursions, incursions and in-service activities, catering for all families and mimicking a home like environment. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and ask families to provide morning tea and lunch for their child.

The educational program and list of activities offered are available on the Monday of week 6 of each school term.

Bookings for Summer 2024/2025 School Holiday Program open at 10am on Monday 18th November 2024.
