Community Connections Breakfast - 13 October
Event
Join Us for a Free Breakfast in conjunction with Mental Health Month and Carers Week.

This October, members of our local community are invited to come together for a morning of connection, conversation and support as Woden Community Service and Northside Community Service host a free Breakfast at the Woden Youth Centre.
Held on Tuesday 13 October, the event brings together two important awareness campaigns, National Carers Week and Mental Health Month, creating a space where people can learn, connect and prioritise wellbeing.
Recognising the Invisible Work of Carers
Carers play a vital role in our communities every day. They provide support, care and companionship to family members, friends and neighbours living with illness, disability, mental health challenges or age-related needs.
Yet many people who provide this support do not identify as carers. Instead, they see themselves simply as a parent, partner, child, sibling, friend or neighbour doing what they can for someone they care about.
This year's National Carers Week theme, Making Carers Visible, highlights the need to recognise and celebrate the enormous contribution carers make to the lives of others and to our communities.
A Time to Thrive Together
Taking place during Mental Health Month, the Community Connections Breakfast also embraces the theme Thrive Together, recognising that strong communities are built through relationships, inclusion and support.
Social connection plays an important role in maintaining mental health and wellbeing. By bringing people together in a welcoming and accessible environment, the event aims to create opportunities for meaningful conversations, new connections and access to helpful information and services.
Whether you're a carer, someone seeking support, or simply looking to connect with your community, everyone is welcome.
What to Expect
The morning will provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with opportunities to:
Enjoy a free community breakfast
Participate in wellbeing activities
Learn about local services and support programs
Connect with community members and service providers
Celebrate and recognise the contribution of carers
The event offers a valuable opportunity to discover resources, build support networks and spend time with others who share a commitment to community wellbeing.
Woden Community Service and Northside Community Service are proud to deliver this Community Connections Breakfast as part of National Carers Week and Mental Health Month. We invite carers, families, community members and local service providers to join us for a morning focused on connection, recognition and wellbeing.
